Vermax Venlo Glass Greenhouses Description
The Vermax is Harnois’ semi-closed Venlo glass greenhouse, engineered in Canada for growers who demand peak performance and a clear path toward carbon-neutral production. Built on Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) principles, it integrates patented solar, geothermal, and fuel cell technologies alongside an advanced heat storage system capable of reaching a coefficient of performance (COP) of up to 7.5, significantly reducing energy costs over the long term.
Water and CO₂ are managed in a fully circular loop. The Vermax’s revolutionary water treatment system produces zero wastewater after initial startup, while its on-site CO₂ capture technology recycles ambient air into a clean, concentrated supply for crop growth, eliminating new emissions entirely.
Smart diffuse glass and an optimized greenhouse geometry work together to maximize natural light transmission and create a stable, uniform growing environment. The result is higher productivity per square foot, reduced need for supplemental lighting, and a controlled climate that supports consistent, high-quality crop production year-round.
Fully automation-ready, the Vermax integrates climate control, irrigation, lighting, and growing systems, making it an ideal solution for operations facing labor constraints or scaling toward high-tech production. Every structure is custom-engineered to your site, crop, and business requirements.
With 60 years of greenhouse expertise behind it, the Vermax is Harnois‘ most advanced structure, a turnkey solution that doesn’t just meet today’s agricultural standards, but anticipates tomorrow’s.
