Built for Seedling Growers, Reforestation Programs, and Conservation
Harnois Greenhouses designs and builds high-performance nursery greenhouse structures engineered for the rigorous demands of tree seedling production, reforestation, and conservation. With 60 years of expertise and an in-house team of engineers and agronomists, we deliver the specialized growing environments and technical solutions required for large-scale seedling operations across North America.
The requirements of tree seedling growers are distinct from standard horticultural production. Our nursery greenhouse designs provide advanced control over temperature, humidity, and light to create ideal conditions for both local forest species and rare or endangered varieties, helping growers achieve higher germination rates, stronger transplant survival, and consistent crop quality season after season.
Greenhouses for Nurseries & Tree Seedlings
Founding partner of the Canadian Tree Nursery Association (CTNA)
Harnois Greenhouses is proud to be a founding partner of the Canadian Tree Nursery Association (CTNA).
This collaboration reflects our commitment to the sustainable growth of Canadian forests and support for tree nurseries across the country.
The CTNA, established in 2023, represents tree nurseries that produce over 90% of Canada’s tree seedlings. As a partner, Harnois Greenhouses plays a key role in the development and strengthening of this vital sector, contributing to the restoration of green spaces and the health of Canada’s ecosystems.
We are proud to support this initiative and work together to build a sustainable future for Canada’s forests.

Why Seedling Growers Choose a Harnois Nursery Greenhouse
Optimal Environmental Control
A greenhouse allows precise regulation of growth conditions, temperature, humidity, and light, to promote rapid, uniform germination and healthy plant development.
Improved Survival Rates
By providing stable and tailored growth conditions, seedlings cultivated in greenhouses for tree seedlings develop greater resilience, ensuring higher survival rates after transplantation.
Support for Biodiversity
Greenhouse cultivation enables the production of rare or sensitive forest species, which is crucial to reforestation and biodiversity conservation.
Protection Against Weather Extreme
By shielding crops from extreme weather conditions, greenhouses for tree seedlings ensure steady growth and protect young plants from frost, strong winds, and heavy rainfall.
Recent project: Kingsclear Tree Nursery
Strategic investments in advanced greenhouse technology are enabling a significant production ramp-up, with annual targets reaching 20M–23M native seedlings. This expansion is a critical milestone in supporting high-volume reforestation and restoration initiatives.
Recent project: Red River Métis Tree Nursery
"The greenhouses are sourced from Harnois Greenhouses out of Quebec. Phase one includes a Luminosa seven-bay gutter-connected greenhouse and four individual Ovaltech III greenhouses, which allows for an annual capacity of approximately two million seedlings," said James Best, General Manager, Red River Métis Tree Nursery. "Phase two will add up to 27 additional greenhouse bays."
